First Baptist Church of Christ, Macon Georgia, USA donated a 12-seater passager van to Ricks Institute. This relevant gift will assist the school in its transportation needs.

Ricks is pleased to welcome Mr. Michael Petty, volunteer from the International Ministries of American Baptist Churches (ABC) < namespace="" prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" xml="true">USA. Mr. Petty is a retired US Navy Chief and holds a Master degree in Counseling. Mr. Petty is teaching English and Physical Education as well as conducting campus-wide Bible Study and computer literacy classes. He is serving from February 2008 to the end of July 2008. Ricks Institute is grateful to the American Baptist Churches for this relevant mission exchange. ABC and Ricks have a longstanding Christian mission partnership.

 

Jan. 25, 2008--Mr. & Mrs. Rockefeller Findley at Ricks during the installation of Ricks Student Government where Student Edmond Cooper (in left photo) was installed as the President. Mr. Findley, a graduate of Ricks, serves as the General Manager of the United States Trading Company (Coca-cola) in Liberia.

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's impromtu visit to Ricks Institute on a Sunday afternoon. She commended the Principal Rev. Olu Q. Menjay for the excellent job at Ricks Insitute, one of Liberia's post-war success stories.
